Help for Women

Young mother in an Andean village
Extreme poverty and misery affect women more than men. Often they are victims of domestic violence and/or sexual abuse. Many women only have limited access to education and health care. At the same time, however, women are usually the ones who hold the family together and feed the children, even in the midst of scarcity and hardship.
That is why integral and sustainable self-help for women, among other things, is at the center of our activities. We want to improve the living conditions of women empowering them to lead self-sufficient lives.
These are some of the projects we operate for and with women:
These projects do not only help and empower women. They strengthen the body of Christ and positively influence the whole society.
Blanca used to live in extreme poverty. Her older sons were living in the streets as criminals. Blanca’s husband was violent and dependent on alcohol. She had to look after the entire family by herself.
Today Blanca is an active member of our Peruvian partner church. Her six sons have become Christians. Blanca runs her own small business which she started with a mini loan from Chance e.V.. Even her husband began to change when he witnessed the positive changes in his family.
